Attempted theft
Would-be thieves attempted to steal copper wire from the Lithgow Railway Workshop between 4pm on January 19 and 10am on January 22.

Police believe the unknown offenders may have been disturbed, which is why they did not get away with the wire.
At a minimum the offenders could be charged with trespassing.
Police have been able to gather CCTV footage which they are reviewing.
Police asked that anyone with information contact Crime Stoppers or Lithgow Police.
Mid range drink driving
A man has been issued with a court attendance notice after being charged with mid range drink driving.
Police stopped the man on the Great Western Highway in the Meadow Flat area at 7am on Saturday, January 21 for exceeding the speed limit and was issued a road side breath test which was positive.
The man was then conveyed to Bathurst police station for a breath analysis which returned a mid range reading.
He will appear in Bathurst court at a later date.
