Lithgow Library is hosting a series of talks to promote the digitisation of their historic Lithgow photo archive on Wednesday January 24.

The event is in celebration of the digitisation of over 600 historic photographs now available on the library’s website.
“We wanted to share the images with the community and make it easier for them to find online rather then coming into the library to search for them,” library coordinator, Terry O’Keefe said.
Terry said the event is built around celebrating local photography and the importance of it.
The mornings speakers include Sharon Lewis who will be talking about the libraries digitisation project, Mark Langdon on historical Lithgow photographers, Norm MacFarlene who will discuss the Lithgow camera club and photography in the 1980s and 90s as well as former Lithgow Mercury editor Len Ashworth who will talk about newspaper photography.
The talks begins at 11am, and will run for approximately an hour followed by a light luncheon.
The event is free and you don’t have to book a place but bookings are preferred.
