The Wallerawang Community and Sports club major singles and club pairs are under way. In the singles Kim Alexander had a good victory over Pommie Williams.

All was even in the early ends with the scores seven all after 11 ends. Alexander got to 13-7 and then 13-9 before he picked up nine shots to lead 22-9. Williams got as close as 25-17 down but Alexander finished to strong to win 31-21.
Tony McSorley had a slow start against Chris Neaves as he trailed 12-5 after ten ends. Fighting back to trail 20-18 McSorley could not maintain the pressure as he went down 31-20.
Ian McMillan showed was he is considered one of the most consistent bowlers in the club with a 31-7 demolition over Graham Haley. In the game of the week Tony Holden took on Geoff Flynn.
Despite being under an injury cloud it was Flynn who got the best start as he led by 8-3 early.
Holden came back to trail 8-10 but then Flynn jumped to a handy 19-8 leads. Playing in windy conditions Flynn was in complete control as he went on to win 31-18.
Flynn is in the type of form that may worry the rest of the field. In the pairs the Francis family Des and Darren took on Pommie Williams and Mike McNamara.
Des and Darren were behind the eight ball early as Williams and McNamara got out to an 12 nil lead.
Down 19-6 the Francis family began a fight back as the got to 19-10 down but that was the end of their scoring as Williams and McNamara went on to win 31-12.
Lance Gillespie and Ron Vidler defeated Ted Doggett and Joe Menchin in the pairs. It was seven all after 11 ends but the more regular bowlers Lance and Ron ran away with the game to win 23-14.
In the socials Ray Palmer and Greg Anderson defeated Dick Bulkeley and Kim Alexander 18-11.
Peter Matchett and Daryl Archer were too good for Curtis and Chris Brown winning 20-14. In a champions challenge Vee Brown came from 20-12 down to defeat Craig Pugsley 31-27.
We have sheets on the board for pennant names for the coming season. We need a lot more players if we are to compete this year. The sheets for the minor singles and our mixed triples are also on the board
The Thursday night Turnabout Triples are on this week. All players are welcome to play in this event just get in touch with the club or Pommie and we will arrange a game for you. Names should be in by 4.30pm for a 5pm start.
