The barbecues will be held at Bunnings stores around NSW, supporting many different services.
It will be cooking in Lithgow between 9am and 4pm. You can buy a snag or make a donation to support the Marrangaroo Rural Fire Service.
NSW RFS Commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons said he was always excited for this time of year to roll around as it’s great to see the community come together to help support the emergency services.
"We can’t thank our members enough for their commitment to protecting the community.
“I urge everyone to be prepared for fires. Start by making a bush fire survival plan and discuss with your family what you will do if a fire started nearby. You can prepare your home with a few simple steps like cleaning gutters and ensuring hoses reach all around your property.
“Know your risk, where to get information and what you will do if fire threatens, especially if travelling this summer and holiday period."
Bunnings Lithgow SFS Complex Manager, April Spillett, said this was a terrific way for team members and all Australians to show their appreciation for these everyday heroes and the important work they carry out by on a day to day basis.
“The team is looking forward to manning the barbecue and doing their bit to help raise funds and awareness at such a critical time of year for NSW RFS.”
