The Year 12 leadership team, who was in charge of organising the day, chose to donate the money raised to Bear Cottage in Manly.
Bear Cottage is the only children’s hospice in NSW, giving care to children in the final stages of their illness.
Its goal is to be as far removed from a hospital environment as possible.
La Salle’s students rallied to the fundraising call and each subject was represented in a a challenge. There were puzzles, races and coordination challenges.
And there were water balloons. Of course there were water balloons. However, one (un)lucky Year 12 student was the target of these balloons, some of which may have been filled with paint.
The agriculture department set a large-scale task, making students race against the clock to push wool bales around the oval and carry full grain sacks.
