Lithgow hosted a Best in the West competition, pitting CrossFit gyms from around the Central West against each other.
Six gyms sent their top three male and best three female athletes to contest the Best in the West competition organised by CrossFit Uplift Lithgow.
Gyms from as far as Dubbo competed in the fourth edition of the annual event.
Lithgow was represented by Vanguard Fitness and CrossFit Uplift, who had taken out the title for the past three years. However the results did not fall Uplift’s way in 2017 as CrossFit 2795 from Bathurst finished on top.
Uplift finished second with CrossFit Dubbo in third.
Vanguard Fitness ended up in sixth place.
The athletes endured six tough events ranging from distance rowing and running, to sprint style weight and bodyweight circuits as well as heavy Olympic lifting.
The first three events were held at the Jim Monaghan Athletic field and the final three were held at the CrossFit Uplift gym.
Competitors pushed on despite the rain in the outdoor section, before the action went inside the gym.
