The Lithgow Uke and Sing Group did a fantastic job entertaining the residents and volunteers. Students from Lithgow Public School, led by Belinda Trounce, also performed several items with the band and recorder groups.
Many thanks to all the wonderful volunteers who assisted on the day and also for everyone’s support throughout the year.

Volunteering has been found to be good for your health as well as benefiting the community. Research shows volunteering lowers blood pressure, improves the immune system, makes you happier, builds self esteem and much, much more including a sense of belonging to your community.
Community Visitors are people who have insight into the feelings of loneliness that some residents experience. Community Visitors are also people who have faith in the healing possibilities of kindness and generosity.
The Community Visitors Scheme, funded by the Australian Government, aims to enrich the quality of life of residents of aged care homes who are socially isolated or lonely, and would benefit from a friendly visitor.
