I’m calling on all local sports clubs in the Electorate to apply for co-funding for a defibrillator under the NSW Government’s Local Sport Defibrillator Grant Program.

More than 2,500 Automatic External Defibrillators (AED’s) will be rolled out across the state over the next four years and I encourage all local sporting clubs to take this opportunity to apply for a grant to help fund an AED - which can be the difference between life and death.
The program will fund up to 50 per cent of the defibrillator cost, along with training and maintenance support. The $4 million program will make sporting fields safer for thousands of players and spectators. More than 33,000 Australians experience cardiac arrest every year, and the first eight minutes are critical to improving the likelihood of survival.
Early access to CPR and defibrillation can influence survival rates by up to 75 percent. The scheme is targeting community sports clubs, but applications from licensed sporting clubs and sports organisations associated with schools, churches universities, and councils will also be considered. This popular and informative diary from Legal Aid NSW is packed with useful tips that will help seniors protect their rights and make the most of 2018. The diary explains a wide range of legal issues, from retirement villages and tenancy rights to age discrimination, the effect of gift-giving on pension entitlements, and ways to make sure your pet is taken care of if you can no longer look after them.
This year’s diary also includes tips for anyone considering becoming a guarantor for a home loan or entering into a ‘granny flat’ arrangement.
The diary will also keep readers up to date with events like the NSW Seniors Festival, NSW Grandparents Day and 2018 school holiday periods.
