Police are investigating after a cyclist died following a crash north of Bathurst on Wednesday afternoon.

At about 4pm, emergency services were called to Sofala Road, Wattle Flat, following reports of a crash.
Initial investigations suggest a Nissan X-trail and a bicycle, both travelling south on Sofala Road, had collided.
The rider of the bicycle, a 61-year-old local man, died at the scene.
A crime scene was established and investigations commenced.
The driver of the Nissan, a 40-year-old Metford man, was not injured. He was taken to Bathurst Hospital for mandatory blood and urine analysis.
The bicycle and Nissan will undergo forensic analysis.
Investigations into the crash are continuing and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
