Car rolls down hill

Three men travelling in a Jeep through Sunny Corner State Forest were hospitalised on Saturday, November 11, after their car rolled multiple times down a hill.

Police said the trio were navigating a steep descent on the Parr Hill Trail in Dark Corner when the car became air borne and rolled on its side thirty metres down the hill, still a significant distance from the bottom.

The driver, a 24-year-old from Cammeray, was winched and transported by helicopter from the forest to Liverpool Hospital in a serious condition with a partially collapsed lung.

The front passenger, a 21-year-old man from Freemans Reach, was also transported by helicopter to Westmead Hospital with a broken leg. The third man was taken to Lithgow hospital for superficial cuts.

Friends of the men were following their car through the forest and called emergency services when they saw it roll down the hill.

Emergency services from Lithgow, Blayney and Bathurst, including two helicopters, attended the crashed vehicle.

Police said none of the injuries sustained by the men were considered life-threatening. Police are investigating the incident.
