The state honour is another notch in the belt for Kelsie after she represented the NSW PSSA under 12 field hockey side at the national school championships in Cairns last year.
She also played for the NSW Lions girls at the under 13s national carnival in Perth in September and October.
The young gun was chosen following her excellent performances playing for Orange at the recent indoor hockey state championships.
The Orange side were undefeated until the final where they were beaten 3-1 by Port Macquarie Hastings to finish second in division two of the under 13 girls competition.
As Lithgow didn’t enter a team into the tournament, Kelsie was a welcome addition to the Orange side, as she scored close to 20 goals in six games.
Kelsie was excited to play for her state again at the national indoor championships in Goulburn in January next year.
Rather than personal honours, she is hoping the experience will help her improve and learn new skills.
But the striker couldn’t hide her desire to score a few more goals along the way.
Kelsie plays her with Workies and the Lithgow District side. She is also preparing for another step up in the not too distant future by training with the Zig Zag women’s premier league team alongside older sister Maddy.
Like all good Lithgow hockey players, Kelsie trains under the watchful eye of experienced coach Wally Gaynor.
Fellow Lithgow hockey guns Emily Thompson and Brandan Horner have also been selected to play indoor hockey for NSW in the under 15 girls and open men respectively.
