The festivities are scheduled to commence on Saturday, November 11, including tours of the college and a special sesquicentenary dinner that evening.
Among the Old Boys’ returning will be Dr James Fitzpatrick, class of 1991. Dr Fitzpatrick is Head, Alcohol and Pregnancy and FASD Research at Western Australia’s Telethon Kids Institute.
James was presented with the Young Australian of the Year Award in 2001 in recognition for his advocacy of rural and indigenous health issues. He will set the stage for the evening with a special address to all guests.
In addition, the college will host a stellar line-up of former Stannies students as part of a panel Q&A session.
The line-up will consist of former Wallabies Tim Lane (class of 1977), James Grant (class of 1982), Marty Roebuck (class of 1982) and soon to be Stannies Old Boy, Australian Rugby Union Schoolboy, Bo Abra (class of 2017).
While each panel member has represented Australia in rugby union, Tim, James and Marty have excelled beyond the football field, boasting impressive career portfolios.
Tim Lane, former Wallaby and assistant coach to the Wallabies, will be making the trip from Port Macquarie to be a part of Stannies biggest reunion to date.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to return to the place where I was first introduced to Rugby and reconnect with staff and old class mates,” Mr Lane said.
Current student and Australian schoolboy representative, Bo Abra will join the veterans on stage, “It’s an absolute privilege that I’ll have the chance to sit up on stage with these men, I’m keen to hear how their careers played out after graduating,” he said.
The event is not limited to Old Boys, former staff and their families. Current Stannies community members – staff, students, families and friends are very welcome
