It recognises the achievements and contribution of people to the Lithgow community, with awardees to be announced at the 2018 Australia Day ceremony.
The NSW Local Citizenship Award categories are:
- Volunteer of the Year Award (Young Citizen and Open Citizen)
- Achievement Award (Young Citizen and Open Citizen)
- Service to the Community – Organisation Award
- Recognition of Outstanding Event Award
The Young Citizen Category of the Volunteer and Achievement Awards is for people between the ages of 16 and 26 while the Open Category is for all ages over 16 years.
Once nominations have been received, the public will be asked to vote on their favourite event with the results to be revealed on Australia Day.
Nomination forms are available from the front counter of the Lithgow City Council Administration Centre, at all Lithgow Library Branches and online at http://council.lithgow.com/australia-day.
Nominations will close on Monday, November 27.
Voting for the People’s Choice Event of the Year will open on Friday, January 12 and close on January 19.
