Lithgow resident Louise Collins won the adults section with her true tale about a father who is a bit too involved in the protagonist’s journey home – especially considering he has passed away. Highly commended went to Madeline Spice’s ‘Mute’.

16-year-old Phoebe Thurlow won the teenage category for her story ‘Vermilion’, a creative take on a ghost tale – where it’s not the ghosts you are most of afraid of.
