For Imogen Large, the decision to cut her hair was simple – she did it to help raise funds for Variety, the children’s charity.
This was the second time Imogen has faced the scissors, wielded by Maree Statham.
“Isn’t she a brave young girl; give her a clap,” Ms Statham urged the crowd at the Lithgow Public School who had gathered to see the cut.
The first time Imogen cut her hair, in 2014, Imogen and mum Donna raised $2000 for the cause. This year, they topped that total, raising $2704. Their fundraising was boosted on its final day by a ‘Crazy Hair’ day hosted at Imogen’s school, Lithgow Public School. Students arranged their hair in crazy and creative ways, contributing a gold coin to Imogen’s appeal. Imogen’s cut hair will be donated to Hair with Heart, which provides wigs for children who have lost their hair to alopecia or cancer treatments.
