It was the second time Michael Lee Treleavan, 52, had been before court for driving while his licence was suspended.
He was found guilty in Katoomba Local Court on April 4, 2016 of driving while disqualified. He had been banned for two years for traffic offences and was not due to get his licence back until September 2017.
The court added another two years onto his disqualification so he was banned until 2019 when he was pulled over on the Great Western Highway at Hartley on January 1 this year.
Treleavan will be in jail until January 1, 2018, and his licence has been suspended for a further two years.
He faced additional charges in Lithgow Local Court on October 12.
Treleavan was found in possession of a syringe of methadone in Mudgee on March 26 this year and was charged with possessing a restricted prescribed substance. He was placed on a 12-month good behaviour bond.
Trevleavan was sentenced to three months jail, to be served concurrently with his driving sentence, for intimidating and assaulting a police officer in the execution of their duty in the Woolworths car park at Leura in October 2016.
Dodgy credit card
A Jamisontown man has been ordered to pay the Zig Zag Motel $666 after skipping out on accommodation and meals charges last year.
Brendan Barnes, 26, was found guilty of dishonestly obtaining property by deception at Lithgow Local Court on Thursday, October 12.
The court heard he provided a credit card with insufficient funds to cover his three night stay at the motel from December 16 to December 19, 2016.
He also charged two dinners to his room account. Despite being told his card had been declined, Barnes made no attempt to pay for the room or meals before leaving the motel.
After unsuccessfully contacting him for payment, the motel contacted the police. He was charged on April 3 this year after officers repeatedly made requests for payment.
Barnes will also have to serve 150 hours of community service.
Neighbourhood dispute
An argument between neighbours resulted in a Lithgow Local Court hearing for assault on October 12.
Christopher Graham Burford, 53, was found guilty of common assault and fined $450. The court heard Burford was in a dispute with his neighbour’s landlord which spilled over into an argument with the tenant on February 13 this year.
During the argument, it was reported to police Burford threw bottles.
