The school, which was founded in Lithgow in 1867, has organised three days packed with activities for its current students, families and alumni.
The celebrations will kick off on Thursday, October 26, with a day of special activities for Cooerwull’s infants and primary students including a May Pole dance, bush band music and an official smoking ceremony.
On Friday students, families and community members are invited to an Anniversary Concert at the school beginning at 10am and wrapping up by 12pm. Each class in the primary and infants’ department will perform as part of the concert.
A 150th anniversary display will be exhibited in Cooerwull’s school hall.
“It is historical. There will be lots of historical memorabilia through to the current day,” teacher Shireen Sheehan said.
Tours of the school buildings for community members will run between 2-4pm on Monday, October 30, every half-an-hour.
