A ghost story that is over 100 years old is still being shared by locals of the Blue Mountains and Lithgow region today.
Sightings of a lady dressed in black on the road of Mt Victoria Pass date as far back as the 1800s, according to former Blue Mountains local history librarian John Low.
One of Australia’s most famous authors Henry Lawson even wrote about the mysterious ghost.
The history and meaning of the lady in black is the subject of the Lithgow Mercury’s latest podcast in the ‘Haunted’ series. We hear about the possible origins of the lady’s story and ask whether Lawson really did see her ghost.
A new episode of Haunted will be released online each Tuesday in the lead up to Halloween.
