A huge total of $45,259.15 was raised as a packed room of over 200 bidders competed for over 100 items.
“It’s absolutely surpassed what we were hoping to achieve so we’re ecstatic and so are the charities,” principal of LJ Hooker Lithgow Jamie Giokaris said.
All proceeds will go towards two local charities, Suicide Awareness “Lets Talk” Lithgow and CanAssist, as well as two organisations from the LJ Hooker Foundation in Humpty Dumpty and Cystic Fibrosis Australia.
The Humpty Dumpty Foundation have announced that the money the receive from the event will go towards purchasing medical equipment specifically for Lithgow Hospital.
Mr Giokaris offered a “huge thank you” to the Lithgow community including businesses who donated goods and services as well as those bidded generously on the night.
“It was a bit overwhelming. I don’t think there was one business that said they couldn’t help us,” Mr Giokaris said.
“That was really the pleasing part I suppose is that the whole community really banded together and they really ensured the success of the night.”
The final total was also boosted by several cash donations in the lead-up to the event and on the night.
Mr Giokaris said LJ Hooker has every intention to make the auction an annual event and were keen to “do it again bigger and better next year”.
