Lithgow Council is offering free community workshops to help residents take charge of their own organic recycling by following the correct methods.
The upcoming worm farm and compost workshop to be held on Saturday, October 28 at Lithgow Library from 2-3pm.
“This is the second time these workshops have been on offer to local residents,” Mayor Stephen Lesslie said.
“The first was successful and we are hoping this time for more interest. The workshops are free and will give invaluable education in recycling and compositing practices.”
Light refreshments will be provided as well as a worm farm lucky door prize.

In other recycling news, Lithgow Council has reduced the cost of providing an additional recycling bin to residents to $77 per year.
The price reduction is seeking to provide the community with the resources to increase recycling at home.
“The more recycling that is diverted from landfill the better for the environment and in turn the community” said Cr Lesslie.
