Lithgow Theatre Group rehearsals are in full swing for their latest production Stand And Deliver.
And no, it's not a western or a bushranger farce.
This extremely funny play takes a behind the scenes look into the world of the maternity ward. Meet sex-mad nurse Lindsay Walker, and the four ladies waiting in ward C.
Three of these four have the husband they deserve, and one has a mother no-one deserves.
The delivery rooms are full, leaving Sister Mitchell and Nurse Walker to show their compassionate side, with the down to earth patter of two hospital domestics to provide comfort and a bit of wit. It contains strong language and is not suitable for the easily offended.
Greer Ashworth steps up as director for this naughty comedy, with Theatre Group regulars Judy Riley, Al Shirt, Kylie Pearce, Emma Francis, Laurin Shirt, Donna Dykes and Sandra James again on stage.
This production welcomes new, and very talented cast members Sandra Gordon, Matt Trounce, Lorelle Bradley, Chanetelle Peters-Jenner and Lily Hasler. Rehearsals are proving a challenge as the cast is trying to practice with a straight face.
Once again Club Lithgow provides the venue for the production and tickets will be on sale in the lead up from reception and at the door at the night.
Opening night will be on Thursday, October 26 and there will be four performances only: Friday and Saturday, October 27 and 28 at 8pm, and a bonus evening performance at the Hampton Halfway House on Saturday, November 4.
While meals are available at the club from Pete's Bistro and Kah- Wah Chinese restaurant, no meals will be served within the performance times.
This is a truly side splitting comedy, which will leave you in stitches... from laughing. Make your calendar, bring your friends for a night of comedy you won't forget.
