His plan will culminate in shaving off his big hair on Wednesday, September 20.
The Wallerawang Public School student will be losing his self-described “helmet” in front of all of his fellow students which he feels will be a bit embarrassing.
But he was also excited as his hair tended to “get kind of itchy”. It has been roughly 12 months since Joshua last had a hair cut.
He was encouraged to shave his hair for the Starlight Foundation by his grandmother, Carol Chew.
Joshua certainly agreed with the sentiment helping the charity achieve its mission “to brighten the lives of seriously ill children and their families”.
“We’re very proud of what he is doing to help other kids. It’s not often you see little children help little children,” grandfather Laurie Chew said.
