They will be climbing all 1504 stairs of Sydney Tower in full gear on Saturday, October 14.
Lithgow firefighter Cameron Stevenson and five other locals will be taking on the gruelling climb.
Mr Stevenson spent over an hour going up and down an exercise step in Cook Street Plaza on Tuesday morning to train for the event.
Watch out for him and other local firefighters around town today as well as Tuesday next week in the lead up to the Climb for MND.
