Lithgow in danger of missing out
Over the years the Lithgow Council has managed to complete projects that have attracted grant money from both State and Federal governments.

There have been a number of projects that have been championed by council that have a benefit to the ratepayers of Lithgow.
Some of these include the Clarence water transfer project, Lithgow heated pool, Portland STP, Farmers Creek flood mitigation, Lithgow hockey fields returfing and many others.
It makes me wonder what is the current council doing. They have grant money sitting there yet they can’t even get the project started and the projects that have been started they don’t seem to be able to finish them.
As for new projects there seems to be a lack of shovel ready projects available so that grant money can be allocated to this area and we don’t miss out.
This was highlighted at a council meeting earlier this year when a member of the public gallery asked why there had been next to no committee meetings in the first seven months of the new council, is this council a do nothing council?
This council needs to get its act together and start delivering for the community, they have money sitting there for the Main Street Revitalisation Project, Cullen Bullen STP, extra road funding for sealing Coxs River Road, Blast Furnace Park funding etc, etc.
They seem more concerned in playing political games to the detriment of Lithgow, an example was the hosting of the Greens Party function advocating for an end to coal mining and coal fired power generation two of the major employers in this area.
It’s about time this council stops wasting our time and our money and gets on with the job of ensuring the delivery of the services and making sure they have shovel ready projects right to go when funding becomes available so that Lithgow doesn’t miss out.
