The team consisted of Deidre Stubbs, Ellen Staines and Cheryl Schram.
Workies qualified for the Zone finals after winning the Western Division title but cam into the Zone competition as underdogs.
The Workies women held their own as Stubbs outplayed her opposite number to put the Lithgow side in a comfortable position throughout the game.
Neither side gave an inch in the opening exchanges with each team unable to score more than one point for the first ten ends.
Staines played one of her best games and pulled out some great on shots to get her team out of trouble on many occasions.
Workies finally managed to hit the front as they scored a multiple on the 12th end.
They were never in trouble from then on as Schram finished off the contest with a few great draw bowls to lead her team to an exciting 25-13 win.
The Workies Women’s Triples side will now play in the State Championships at Taren Point in October.
Cheryl Schram lost her singles match to a very strong Windsor competitor but came away with some very valuable experience.
Congratulations to the Workman's Women’s Bowls club and a big thank you to all the supporters who made the trip to Penrith.
