The annual event organised by Lithgow District Football Association attracted 31 teams this year. Local seven and five-a-side teams were entered by Wallerawang, Blackheath, Lithgow City Rangers, Thistles and Workies Redbacks Football Clubs.
Junior football players braved very windy conditions to participate in a round robin competition within their age groups. Teams in the under six, under eight and under 10 rounds were all given medals for their participation in a full day of football.
Wentworth Falls took out first place in the two competitive age categories, U/14 and U/12s.
Seven-a-side football is a faster match played with only seven players of each team on the field, as opposed to the usual 11. At the Lithgow Sevens Carnival each game was played in two halves of ten minutes, with no break.
