With one round to go, Bathurst City leads the women’s competition and St Pat’s can not be dislodged from third. In the men’s it is a similar situation, with St Pat’s on top and Souths a lock for third place.
Bathurst Hockey Association president Libby Milligan feels it is a great sign for Bathurst and a positive for the league as well.
“Although we are not quite in the middle of the area, we are close to it, so it provides an opportunity for people to travel here and watch those finals without too much bother,” she said.
“I can’t remember four finals here at the same time, Lithgow usually always has one, or Orange. I can never remember it in the men’s, we usually have one and we’ve had Pat’s versus Souths, but not two. It’s good for the area, it’s a good opportunity to promote the competition.”
