Lithgow City Council has called an extraordinary meeting to hear the community’s views on how to use the recently announced community funding from the state government.
The meeting will be held in the council chambers at 7pm on Wednesday, August 2.
A total of $1.7 million has been allocated to the Lithgow LGA to spend on community projects over the next two years.
Lithgow Council’s administration has been working to identify projects that satisfy the requirements of the state government grant.
Community support is encouraged to assist with any application lodged for consideration.
“Given the very short time frame before closing date for applications, it is necessary I believe to give the community an opportunity to provide their supportive comments on both the initiatives already identified by the administration and any other initiative that the community may wish to promote,” Cr Lesslie said.
“Whilst the administration has been compiling a list of potential initiatives to benefit the LGA, the community should have an opportunity to show support for these and suggest other projects that should be considered.”
Community groups and individuals should submit their ideas to Lithgow City Council in writing at 180 Mort Street, Lithgow or council@lithgow.nsw.gov.au.
