Believed to have been sparked by a campfire left alight, the fire has been burning on a remote ridge between the Wolgan and Capertee valleys since July 21.
Remote fire-fighting crews from the National Parks and Wildlife Service were dropped into the area by helicopter on Saturday and again on Tuesday to actively fight the blaze.

Winds kept the helicopter and fire crews away on Sunday.
National Parks and Wildlife acting area manager Arthur Henry said the edges of the fire were secure and it had not spread since Tuesday.
“Our strategy at the moment is to let the peat fuels burn out,” he said.
“We hope that there will be rain arriving on Monday.”
Helicopters are patrolling the area regularly to keep an eye on the containment lines.
