Wallerawang Warriettes won their league tag game against CSU Blue, the students holding the frontrunners to a try apiece in the second half. Portland Fillies beat Lithgow Bears 22-0.
In the first 30 minutes of their game at Diggings Oval, under-strength premiers Villages United gave up 22 early points to CSU before clawing their way back to to a close contest.
Ultimately, the university side took a 48-33 win.
In league tag, a confrontational response to their opponents’ aggressive style of play lifted the Villagettes to the performance level of football they have recently assumed since the start of the second round of matches and, despite the 28-10 loss, did their semi-final chances no harm.
Kandos defeated Orange Barbies 26-6.
