The Fillies were beaten by Kandos 12-8.
It was a special day at Kremer Park, as the Portland Colts hosted a fundraising round, with all monies raised going to the Simon Williams charity.
Villages United, sitting five competition points behind leaders Wallerawang, are hopeful they maintain the composure from their game against Orange Barbarians, trusting it is an omen coming into this week’s match-of-the-round against in-form CSU.
Last weekend, hosting the visiting Barbarians, Villages United powered home in their round-11 New Era Midwest Cup match to take the competition points with a 48-12 victory.
In the Wallerawang Sportsground game the Warriors, even without three of their top players, managed to defeat Lithgow Bears, maintaining top spot on the ladder with their 54-8 win.
CSU had the bye.
The top three clubs, Wallerawang, CSU and Villages, are assured of finals games and, with Portland’s win and an easier run into the semi-finals, the Colts will almost certainly take fourth position to the end of the regular season, while fifth spot on the table will be contested by Orange and Kandos, both on eight points.
In league tag Wallerawang had an 88-0 win over Lithgow Bears.
Fierce contenders CSU Yellow defeated fellow students team CSU Blue and Kandos were winners 12-8 over Portland.
Villages beat Orange Barbies 12-4.
This Saturday, July 22 will be the last home game for the Bears. The Bears will be playing host to the Portland Colts.
League Tag starts at 1.30pm while the rugby league starts at 2.30pm. The clubs hope to see plenty of support for this local derby at the Lithgow Tony Luchettii Showground.
