Luckily, there was no limit on interchanges when the the Old Boys from the Wallerawang Warriors and the Portland Colts met on Saturday, June 24 for a reunion match.
It was a special exhibition held between the New Era Cup matches, the league tag contest that saw the Warriettes up against the Fillies and the league game between the Warriors and the Colts.
Jerseys were unearthed and multiple eras of the game were represented. There was tackling, there was tagging and there was generally a lot of laughter as friends and foes met again over the footy.
With five minutes to go, all the team members poured on for a free-for-all that did not seem to make any difference to anyone’s ability to keep the ball, or score.
There was a lot of crowd support – and not a little heckling – and everyone was keen to have a run, as long as it wasn’t too long. And no one was keeping score.
