“We picked Lithgow as our up-and-coming town, partly for it’s proximity to Sydney,” Mr Cumberland said.
The pair opened a new jewellery store, called Eva, on Main Street on Friday, June 23.
“We have both worked for a very long time in the industry, but predominantly in Brisbane,” said Mr Cumberland, who has moved into the apartment above the shopfront.
“Lithgow is going to go off in the next five years.”
Eva is a manufacturing jeweller, which means everything has been crafted by either Cumberland or Silvestri on the premises.
“We can make custom designs and re-model old pieces,” Mr Cumberland said.
“We have have a range of natural coloured gemstones and can source any stone with ease.”
Eva also offer ‘semi-mounts’, pieces of jewellery the pair have made into which a customer’s chosen gem can be placed.
“We have religious jewellery, sterling silver and we are about to put out some fashionable earrings – we’re just waiting on the stands,” Mr Cumberland said.
“There are pieces throughout the price range.”
Four days into business, Mr Cumberland said he hopes to one day attract customers from the big smoke as well as surrounding regional centres, like Bathurst and Orange.
“We’ve got to build our name.”
