Players of the A grade summer competition met for dinner at the Zig Zag Motel on June 2 to celebrate the end of a competition that has lasted for over two decades.
Members decided to dissolve the competition due to a decline in numbers. They will join the mid-week ladies competition.
Presentations were made at the dinner to the winning team of this year’s summer competition, the Volleys, which consists of players Julie Grant, Margie Lowe and Leanne Fitzgerald.
Runners up, the Bandits, were also recognised. The Bandits’ team members are Debbie Williams, Sandy Cox and Carolyn Andison.
The group plans to organise a reunion of past players of the ladies A grade competition later this year.
