The course played extremely ‘long’ with only four golfers playing under their handicap.
The winner in A grade on a countback was Don Farnsworth who got his game together to card a 69 nett.
Runner up also on 69 nett was Steve Hall and these two will play off for the June medal next medal day.
Hall showed his class when he also returned the best scratch score with a brilliant 73.
B grade went to the in-form Chris Marjoram who has been a regular in the prize lists in recent weeks.
Marjoram finished with the best nett score of the day with a 68 nett.
Best scratch score in B grade went to Paul Bosman on 83 and the medal went to Marjoram.
Runner up was Bob Charlton on 72 nett.
Tom Jennings played good golf to win C grade with a 71 nett with the runner up being Alex Dengate on 75 nett. Jennings took out the medal.
Greg Jackson had the best scratch score in C grade with 96.
Nearest the pin awards went to Brian Judge, Steve Hall, Troy Luka, Dave Titcome and Frank Mantle.
Balls in the ball competition went to those with 75 nett ocb and better.
Friday comp
The winner was Dave Duroux on 24 points with the runner up being Trevor Cameron on 23.
Ball winners were Michael Saville, Jeff Geddes and Brian Giblett.
Nearest the pin was Ross Harrington.
Sunday comp
Young Lachlan Roach showed good potential to card 25 points and take out the major voucher.
Ball winners were Ross Harrington and Brett Roach.
Coming up
This Saturday (July 1) will be the Winter Zig Zag Motel Winter Cup.
Once again the event will be sponsored by Michael
Inzitari and family from the Motel and a big thanks goes to them for their continued support.
Nominations for the handicap match play ends this Sunday and a sheet is on the board for those interested.
