Minor Premiers Jiggers were pushed to the last game before they overcame Helmets 4–2 and now advance to the grand final.
Defending Premiers Pockets dodged a bullet in their match against Tall Timbers as it also went to the last game with Pockets winning 4–3 and only scraped in by ten points in the aggregate.
Tall Timbers can now take a break until the next competition.
Tonight the preliminary final Helmets play Pockets with the winner advancing to the grand final next week.
Major Semi-Final: Welch’s Highway Smash Repairs Jiggers versus Lithgow Valley Storage Helmets: David Adams played Tom Drury. Drury was patient as he was catching the deficit and played very well and surged ahead to win 63–49. Kyle Lewis versus Brett Bradley. Lewis played one of his best games to date, he cruised to a 79–50 win.
Troy Clarke against Paul Hewitt Clarke. Clarke kept the lead until the end to win 84–58.
Jamie Glencorse played Chris Baker. Baker is used to giving big starts and this game against Glencorse he was chasing 54 points. They then went shot for shot with Glencorse finally being to pot a few he went to have a good 83–63 win. Ian Bulkeley played Robert Farnsworth.
Farnsworth put a spoke through Bulkeley’s wheel to bring it home 70–45. With Jiggers 3-2 up and 26 points in front on the aggregate all Wayne lewis had to do was win or lose by 25 for Jiggers to win and his opponent Dianne Stait had to win by 27 points for Helmets to win. Lewis won 44–43 putting Jiggers into the Grand Final.
Minor Semi-Final: Williams and Sons Butchers Pockets versus Carpet One Tall Timbers: Michael Wellings played in a very close game against Frank Wawn to kick off proceedings. Wellings just got up 53–51 to win.
Sharon Holt played Maurie Smith. Holt eventually won 58–36. Brett Holt against Bill Cook. As hard as Holt tried Cook countered equally with good play and went onto win 67–48. Shane Eagle played Michael McCosker.
McCosker was able to stave off Eagle as he won 53–51. Trystan Ford was up against Aaron Vandermeer. Ford made an 18 break and this was good enough to bring the game home 59–28.
With Pockets up 3–2 and a healthy 34 point lead in the aggregate it came down to Luke Morris to win and Leon Rust to win by 35 points for his team to win.
Rust won 64–41 and just missed out by 11 points for his team to win.
