La Salle Academy showed their support for the Mark Hughes Foundation with their own Beanie Day on Thursday, June 22.
A large number of students and staff donned the woolly head warmers, raising a total of $249 in gold coin donations.
The Beanie Day was an initiative of La Salle’s year 12 leadership team.
“The beanies looked great as there were many different styles and colours,” student leader Ebony Brown said.
“Next time we encourage others to get more involved as we as a school community are dedicated to supporting and donating to different worthy causes and showing our support for others.”
Beanie Day and the Mark Hughes Foundation work to raise much needed funds to find a cure for brain cancer, create awareness as well as support brain cancer patients and their families.
Brain cancer kills more children than any other disease, and kills more people under 40 in Australia than any other cancer. However it receives less than five percent of government cancer research funding?
