Preparations were in full swing when the Lithgow Mercury stopped by to take some pictures at the dress rehearsals on Sunday, June 18.
Billed as “an oldie but a goodie”, Calamity Jane is a much-loved musical about a girl in the Wild West.
She has many adventures on her way to discovering herself and finding the man of her dreams.
Calamity Jane is played by Amy Muir, with her friend and co-conspirator Katie Brown played by Kaitlyn Trounce.
Zac Arkley-Smith appears as Wild Bill Hickock and Eli George plays the romantic figure of Danny Gilmartin.
Supporting roles are played by Danielle Roberts and Finn Galloway with a large supporting cast.
This is a very light-hearted fun show with great songs and very funny situations and the cast are really enjoying taking part.
Brian and Jan Kinney are once again playing the accompaniment for the show and the Lithgow Musical Society is helping with costumes and technical support.
Produced and directed by Rae Burton, this show promises to be as good as any the school has performed. The school hopes the community will come along and support the performers, who have worked hard to bring together an enjoyable show.
Performances begin on Friday, June 23 with a school matinee at 10am then a public performance on Sunday, June 25 at 2pm.
Other public performances are on Tuesday, June 27 at 7.30pm, Thursday, June 29 at 7.30pm and Friday, June 30 at 7.30pm.
