Police confirmed the plane’s wreckage had been found today following an extensive ground and air search.
The plane left an airfield at Upper Turon about 2pm on Friday and did not return as scheduled.
Emergency services were notified about 3.15pm.
Despite an extensive ground and air search yesterday, the plane could not be located.
The search resumed at first light on Saturday and the aircraft located about 8.30am in bushland in the Upper Turon area.
The body of the 44-year-old male pilot was located inside the aircraft.
Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
