The METS NSW Map, launched by the Department of Industry, aims to showcase the depth, diversity, strengths and capabilities of the state’s mining equipment, technology and services (METS) sector globally to support future growth.
Many products used by the global mining industry have been developed in NSW including longwall mining equipment, hydraulic roof support systems, mine planning and evaluation software, and various other advanced technologies.
“NSW mining and METS businesses generate about $23 billion in gross revenue and our state is a leader in supplying innovative METS solutions for the resources industry,” NSW Minister for Trade and Industry Niall Blair said.
“The creation of the METS NSW map will showcase our many innovative companies and their products and services to national and international markets to help stimulate growth, including exports.
“The map will also be an important tool to share knowledge, grow networks, promote collaboration and identify clusters of industry expertise.”
The METS NSW Map is a free online register and is open to any business that classifies itself as working in the mining equipment, technology and services sector.
