The Parkes United men’s side has forfeited their round 5 match against the Lithgow Panthers, scheduled to go ahead at Lithgow Hockey Club on Saturday, May 27.
“We’ve struggled for numbers all year,” Parkes captain Dan Wilson said.
“We’ve got limited numbers and this weekend there’s a couple of blokes working and others helping out with girls’ games.
“We tried to defer it but that’s hard to do these days.”
Parkes United is currently at the bottom of the Premier League ladder. They have not yet won a game.
“At least we will win against Bathurst City,” Mr Wilson joked.
Bathurst City has withdrawn from the competition.
Panthers’ next game will be against cross-city rivals Zig Zag, who Panthers coach David Marshall has picked as the side to beat this year.
