It is believed the retailer will move into the former Dick Smith store in Bathurst City Centre.
Dick Smith vacated the site early last year after the parent company Dick Smith Holdings was placed into receivership on January 5, 2016 and voluntary administrators were appointed.
With JB Hi-Fi set to open in just a couple of months, a host of jobs have been advertised on the retail giant’s website
“JB Hi-Fi home is opening a new store in Bathurst,” the advertisement states.
“We are currently recruiting for the new store and would like to achieve a good mix of new and experienced staff.”
The store manager’s position is among the wide range of jobs on offer at the new Bathurst store.
Also available is a sales and media manager position, sales co-ordinator, media co-ordinators, and advisors for music and movies, games and counter accessories.
Sales people are required for home sound and vision, computers, portable audio, cameras, mobile phones and small appliances.
The final few positions being advertised are for stock inventory (store people) and an office administrator.
Currently, the closest JB Hi-Fi stores to Bathurst are located in Jamisontown (105 kilometres away) or in Dubbo (199kms)
Bathurst Business Chamber vice president Steve Semmens said news that JB Hi-Fi was moving to Bathurst was very good.
“I think it’s fantastic, it’ll create local jobs,” he said.
Mr Semmens said the fact that JB Hi-Fi was a very well known retailer across Australia will be a huge boost for Bathurst.
“It’s a brand name and it’ll bring people into town,” he said.
