Are you the best photographer in the region?
As the seasons turn, the spectacular autumn colours are on shown down the Castlereagh Highway, from the changing air in the mountains to the sunlight across the grape vines.
The search is on for the best amateur photographer in our region.
We are looking for photographs that celebrate the colours of the Castlereagh. The competition can include landscapes, local landmarks and people - we want to see your lovely faces!
Photographs can be shot on any kind of camera or phone. The photos must also be taken in Lithgow, Wallerawang, Portland, Cullen Bullen, Dargan, Hartley Vale, Mount Victoria, Blackheath area and anywhere in the Mudgee region, including Mudgee, Gulgong, Rylstone, Kandos, Lue and surrounds.
- The entrants can be from anywhere.
- The photos must be from the areas listed above.
How to enter
You can email your entry of up to THREE photos to firstname.lastname@example.org
In your entry, please include your name, address, phone number, photo title, a description of where the photo was taken. You can also add a description if you like.
Photographs should be emailed between 500KB and 4MB in size.

The competition is open from Friday, May 19, 2017 until Friday, June 16, 2017. Entries will be displayed in an album on this page.
When entries close, a ‘best-of’ selection will be made by the Mudgee Guardian and Lithgow Mercury staff. The public will vote on their favourite from this list to win a prize. A second winner will also be selected from that ‘best-of’ list by the staff as an ‘editor’s choice’ winner.
Voting is open for one week after entries close.
Prizes are shared between the winners and they will be contacted by the phone number they supplied when entering.
Rules and handy info
The competition is open from Friday, May 19, 2017 until Friday, June 16, 2017.
Winners will be contacted by phone and they can collect their prize from either the Mudgee Guardian or Lithgow Mercury offices depending on which is closer.
Prizes must be used at the respective businesses.
Entrants must reside in the areas listed at the top of this article and their main source of income can't be derived from photography.
By entering, contestants agree that they took the photograph supplied and that they own the copyright for that photograph. Permission is given to Fairfax Media to print the photographs in the Lithgow Mercury, Mudgee Guardian and associated Fairfax Media publications as well as in any other form, including print, online, book, calendar or exhibition.
The photographer retains the copyright. Fairfax reserves the right to crop the photograph.
