A little over a year ago her beloved father Timothy Snell died from anaplastic thyroid cancer – a very aggressive cancer that killed him just 10 months after he was diagnosed.
On Saturday she held a community event at Perthville with stalls where she also had her long hair cut off to raise funds for the Cancer Council.
“It was a bit nerve-wracking and exciting, but it was really good,” Ms Kilby.
She raised $2280 thanks to donations from businesses and the community.
The 96 centimetres she had cut off her hair has been donated to make wigs for people undergoing treatment for cancer.
