The fire began outside a Lidsdale home at 11pm. Police believe a 2002 Landcruiser, which was parked in the home’s driveway, was set alight.
A resident saw the flames and called NSW Fire and Rescue. The fire spread from the Landcruiser to a vehicle parked next to it.
The diesel Landcruiser, still alight, then lurched forward, rolling into the shed on the property, which also caught fire.
The shed, which was detached from the home, sustained significant damage.
Lithgow Police Sargeant Darryl Goodwin said the fire was being investigated as suspected arson.
Police and NSW Fire and Rescue brigades from Wallerawang and Lithgow West attended the fire.
