The fencing at Marjorie Jackson Oval was damaged on the weekend by a car which then proceeded to do donuts on the playing field.
The vehicle drove through a chain that had closed off the oval’s disabled access ripping two poles out of the ground in the process.
Lithgow District Football Association publicity officer, Lia Jennings said the damage was “very disappointing.”
“Some people just don’t care about their community but it won’t stop the kids from starting this weekend,” Mrs Jennings said.
“Only kids and families end up being affected.”
The damage was discovered on Sunday morning by committee members who had arrived to mark out fields. The new fencing had only been installed in recent months and was not yet complete.
