The 30-10 victory was near perfect.
Three tries from Lithgow’s Chrissy West set up the triumph, one that came after Castlereagh-Barwon opened the scoring with a try to Sheridan Lillyman in the opening minute of the final.
West’s three tries then rocketed Group 10 into the lead, her third coming off a wonderful kick through from Hawks gun Ella-J Harris. She was crowned player of the game.
With Lailee Phillips also scoring in the first-half, Group 10 led their opponents 20-6 at the break.
From there, coach Brendan Tidswell said the game plan was simple.
“Defend well,” he said, second-half tries to Grace Mooney and Amy Hotham capping the victory.
“We had a bit of game plan to go out hard early and try and run the Castlereagh girls into the ground and I think we did that.
“We had 20 points at half-time and it set the tone for the rest of the game.”
Group 10 will dominate Rams selections for the league tag country championship’s opening round in Cowra on May 13.
“They all deserve a rep jumper, it’s up to the selectors now,” Tidswell said. “For girls that haven’t played together before, to come here and play the way they have they’ve done extremely well.”
