US President Donald Trump's eldest son with first wife Ivana, Donald Trump Jr., appeared in a New York Times profile, but it was the accompanying picture of the 39-year-old in a red flannel shirt and yellow walking boots, sitting awkwardly on a tree stump as he gazed pensively into the distance that really caught attention, particularly of meme-makers.
A number of people took the opportunity to poke fun at the First Son, asking: "why is he so bad at sitting?" and likening him to a catalogue model.
A keen safari hunter, others questioned if he was thinking about "the screams of the elephant babies [he] orphaned".
Trump Jr. took to Instagram with a response to his "#haters".
"Apparently I'm really bad at sitting," he captioned a collage of him looking uncomfortable. "Based on the memes out there I now know what it feels like to be Salt Bae. Thanks internet."

(Salt Bae, a Turkish chef named Nusret G??kce, became February's hottest meme for sprinkling salt on cooked steaks with panache.)
But not content with leaving it there, he showed the apple doesn't fall far from the tree when he provoked the meme-makers to "try harder".
"And in all honesty if a couple bad pics (sic) is all you've got I'm pretty psyched. #tryharder #saltbae #trump #haters #hatersgonnahate," he added.
