Lithgow Police are asking witnesses to come forward and help identify the driver of a vehicle that crashed into a power pole on Saturday, March 18, trapping a passenger for several hours.

The car was travelling north on Landa Street at about 4.45am on Saturday morning when the driver lost control of the white Mitsubishi Magna as it came down from a slight crest. It hit the kerb and a power pole.
The driver fled the scene on foot while the passenger remained trapped.
The Lithgow and District Volunteer Rescue Association reported working for three hours to help free the man alongside police, NSW Fire and Rescue, and paramedics.
The trapped man, who is from Katoomba, remains in the Nepean Hospital with injuries that are not life threatening.
