TV personality Edwina Bartholomew usually reports on news around the country on her Sunrise gig, but this week she nearly became the news.
The Channel Seven journalist has taken to social media on Saturday to thank the NSW RFS volunteers for helping to contain a fire near her property at Capertee Valley.
“This was pretty frightening,” she posted on Instagram.
“After a year of playing farmer, things got very real yesterday and we were grossly under-prepared.
“Thank god for our wonderful neighbours and the @nswrfs for containing the fire in the valley. Joining the RFS right away and stocking the shed with everything we need #nswrfs #thankyou”
She continued in the comments – “our fire plan was get the hell out of there this time. Next time we will be equipped to help more.”
“We just had very little to work with so our neighbours were left to do it all. Don't want to be in that position again even though the fire was across the hill from us,” she said in another comment.
Edwina also posted the thank you to Twitter saying – “Frightening scene. Thanks to local @NSWRFS and neighbours for stopping the spread of Capertee Valley fire. Need to sign up and train ASAP.”
